“Exploring new heights.”
Time to hang out, my loves…
Our Aerial Yoga sessions have soared in popularity — and while they’re not quite fortnightly this year (Hello 50th Year!), they are very much a loved and regular part of our rhythm at Yoga Junkie HQ.
Upcoming Dates:
– Wednesday 30 April
– Wednesday 28 May
– Wednesday 18 June
– Wednesday 16 July
Further dates will be released later in the year — so keep an eye out and your adventurous spirit ready.
Using a soft silk hammock suspended just a few feet from the ground, Aerial Yoga blends traditional Hatha yoga with playful suspension. The hammock acts like a yoga strap or block — assisting alignment, increasing body awareness, and offering the instant benefit of spinal decompression.
With gravity as your guide, you’ll discover space, softness and stretch in all the right places. And yes, it’s incredibly fun. Expect giggles, a warm community vibe, and that beautiful realisation that it’s not just about flexibility in your body — but in your beliefs.
Fear, self-doubt, comparison, hesitation — it often shows up. But here, we don’t push it down. We recognise it. Breathe with it. Move through it.
That’s when the magic happens.
Aerial Yoga Etiquette
Our hammocks are strong, but they’re also precious. Please read the following carefully to keep everyone safe and the silks in top condition:
– Arrive on time — no late entries, as gates/studio doors lock when class begins.
– Leave phones in your car where possible (or silenced completely – no vibrate).
– Remove shoes at the door and place them neatly to avoid slips and trips.
– Bags and coats are best left in your car — the studio is a clear space zone.
What to Wear
– A top that covers your upper arms and fitted leggings that stay in place
– Supportive, comfortable clothing — you’ll often be upside down
– Yoga toe socks with grip are optional
– Men: fitted shorts or yoga meggings only (no loose shorts)
What to Bring
– A bottle of water
– A yoga mat
– A journal and pen (optional – for post-class reflections)
What to Avoid
– Strong perfumes, aftershave, hand creams, body oils, or false tan
– Jewellery, belts, or clothing with zips/buttons that could snag fabric
– Long or pointed nail extensions (please trim nails before class)
– Eating within an hour before class
– Loose hair — please tie back in a bun, plait, or high ponytail
– Attending without medical clearance if you have any condition affecting inversion (e.g. glaucoma, heart concerns, recent injuries). Always check with your GP first and inform us in advance.
Important Notes
– Spaces are limited. A 24-hour cancellation policy applies. Late cancellations (under 24 hours) will be charged, including class pass holders.
– Online waiver must be completed prior to attendance.
– If you require any tailored support or have specific needs, please let us know in advance.
– If you’re new to Aerial but experienced in other forms of yoga, please arrive 15 minutes early so we can safely assess your competency.
Let go. Lean in. Lift off.
We can’t wait to see you in the silks.
